Jewelry Appraisal for Insurance

Appraisals help you protect your precious jewelry by helping you insure it for its proper value. GIA certified, our Graduate Gemologist can help you with all of your jewelry appraisal needs.

Established in 1931, the Gemological Institute of America is the world's foremost authority on diamonds, colored stones, and pearls. A nonprofit institute, GIA exists to protect all purchasers of gemstones by providing the education, laboratory services, research, and instruments needed to accurately and objectively determine gemstone quality.

Pearl Restringing

With strands of pearls, dirt and grease eventually gets in between the pearls and attacks the material upon which they are threaded. As the thread weakens, the chance of snapping increases. Eventually, the thread will look discolored and tired.

As a guideline, if you wear your pearls weekly or more often, you are probably going to need to re-string once every couple of years. If you are wearing your pearls once a month or less, then re-stringing every three or four years will usually suffice.
